Return to your research questions. If you have answers to them, you are ready to move to Step 6. If you need more data or believe that a question remains unanswered, you can return to Step 4 and collect further data.

In the next step, you will begin the process of Respond and Report. You will return to the public and share what you have learned. If the solution to the problem is not obvious at this next stage, you will invite them to help you solve the problem. 

End of step checklist: 

  • You have set timelines and ensured you’ve maximized the return or response rate on your surveys and data collection.
  • You have organized your data using consistent methods for the data type (as per your preference or resources), such as pen and paper or a spreadsheet.
  • You have analyzed your data – both quantitative and qualitative – and generated an initial ranking of priorities (or problems or solutions, as the case may be) and drafted a brief (one- to three-page) report on your findings.
